How to fight Loneliness....

This one is for a friend who has been battling his demons and been my highest bidder today!

How to fight loneliness
Smile all the time
Shine your teeth till meaningless
And sharpen them with lies

And whatever is going down
Will follow you around
That's how you fight loneliness

You laugh at every joke
Drag your blanket blindly
Fill your heart with smoke

And the first thing that you want
Will be the last thing you'll ever need
That's how you fight it

Just smile all the time
Just smile all the time
Just smile all the time
Just smile all the time

Hope your friend is feeling better.

This was surprisingly sharp. Kind of hopeless in a nice way, but realistic at the same time. Welcome back!

@Mohican...

It feels great to be back home... and have access to my phone and computer and the internet whenever I need it!

I was sans phone and laptop for three weeks!

OUCH! But it was nice... a sort of cold turkey stay on my process addiction! Puts me back in control instead of vice versa..

The song is by Wilco. One of my fave indie bands...

what if smiling doesnt help either? i mean smiling might surface an apparent fight against loneliness but what about the scars deep within

@Mubi

battle scars give us character...
smiles make them easier to bear with dignity...
pain is our legacy...
and happiness whatever we choose to make of it!

@ shahnaz
you sed pain is our legacy, does that mean that in a way that we are strangely addicted to pain? is there some kind of pleasure in bearing pain?

@mubi
"pain is our legacy"

by that i did not mean we are addicted to it, or that there is pleasure in bearing pain (though for some that is true...)

but rather i meant that pain is a constant. it is a given. it is our inheritance from life. when you live you are guaranteed to be exposed to pain. there is no such thing as a pain free life...

hope that helps.

i think at times we somehow do intentionally ask for pain... sometimes... we think one kind of pain will replace another... and sometimes we subconsiously do acts that we know will cause pain but still go ahead with them... any comments?

I was happy once but then I found its a cold world, why should one be warm and fight the equilibrium. Sweetness is unappreciated. The only way to stop the pain was to let go and go cold...
