Solitude

Bit by bit the heart turns to stone
Steadily thrumming- life's constant drone
Drop by drop all feeling funnels into the abyss
Layer by layer I seal it tightly closed
No more fear
No longer any pain
Not even a need to blink
As I stare straight ahead
Into the eyes of fate...
I am aware.

Modified as below, with umm due apologies to our sweet madame poetess... :p

Bit by bit love turns the heart back from stone
Steadily thrumming - life's funny bone
Drop by drop all feeling funnels into the bliss
Layer by layer I unseal it from its tight close
No more fear, just a calm
No longer any pain, just a gone tinge
Everyone once so often a blink, a beat that skips
As I stare straight ahead
Into the eyes of possibilities...
I am alive.

(Haha, you don't have to publish it, upto you...)

Let me enjoy my wallowing in depression... I'll snap out of it and be in NY taking your city by storm soon enough.

Enjoy the peace before I turn your schedule upside down again.

"Not even a need to blink"

If wallowing produces work like this...well....wallow!

Meanwhile ...some words of caution from the rock wisdom of my generation:

Ooh, someone to be kind to
in between the dark and the light

Ooh, loneliness will blind you
In between the wrong and the right

“One of these nights”

The city is already shaking in its boooots, "Oh no, a storm is coming" ... Hehe, just teasing ...

Upside down schedule is good! Topsy-turvy is even better ;p ... Just teasing again. Can't wait :) ... You stop being sad. Why? Because I said so ... :p

Did you not go to bed? Why are you up so early???

I am not sad! Just avoiding homework, studying, writing my paper and what not! Plus it feels good to wallow!

And really... you are one to talk. Zahir!

:P
Gotcha didn't I?

Heheh, oh I did, but woke up early, couldn't sleep past 8 am :)

Aww, all the best eh :)

Hehe, zahir, schazahir... It's the oompa loompas that are actually disconcerting!

Shahnaaz! do you really think that one
accident,one catastrophe and a single
unlucky
chain of events is enough to change a person's nature forever?

I mean is it possible..?

I got that impression from your post.

Manan,

Hardly. But there are phases in our life when it feels this way, and then there are phases when we are on cloud nine, and then there are days when things are neither up nor down...

All part of life.
This one came out on a dark day, but it is not dark in context if you read deeper...

I want to share something with you, this inspired me.And i'm sure it'll inspire you too.

It is a dialogue from the movie 'Rocky Balboa'.Rocky tells his son:

'The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! '
