The dark side...

Hello old friend,
'tis you again.
I vowed I'd change,
but I'm here once more.
I get it all,
and one more time...
Toss it all away.
If only I wouldn't.

I say it's you,
your flaws,
my standards,
won't ever compromise.
And all the while
it sits in wait...
hungering for me,
The Dark Side!

Darling...

I am engulfed in the maw of Hades. You can relate. Send good will my way...

first up...I must confess i had to google "maw of Hades"! ...if you got that from your "fantasy fiction" ...who cares! If you are a student of greek mythology - impressive!

second, kiddo, my goodwill, value village and salvation army - all packaged herewith...I, who forever seek wisdom in stupidity, might be offering a lesson past the general "find release in mirth": you, the well-heeled of this world, might not have occasion to know the aforementioned thrift stores. Give thanks for the bounty that you have ...whatever!... your kid, your high spirits, your beautiful mind, heck even your mired in maw horrendous bobbing cork DARK SIDE( ..might as well embrace that from which there is no escape)...which brings me to my third and last:

...wrote this at 18 (it is scribbled on the back of a report card which is why i remember this otherwise eminently forgettable tripe!

poem starts with:

In searching for that which is within, without/You condemn yourself to the fate that is the moon's../...yada yada/...yada yada

ends with:

I offer you solace, take it!/it is not from without/it is the rest you need so badly/it is a time out of time/for everything must be emptied/in order to be filled

Shahnaz yaar!....what a load of crap! Reading my post in print above i am like: yeh kya bakwas likhi hai main nay?

You are a darling to thank me nevertheless..

I am humbled (for now!) - but seriously...the way you put yourself out there and reach out to complete strangers...

Love you for that.

...and stop using words like "maw" yeew! it gives me the bejeebies!
